Born from our search for finding the best skiing and most playful terrain in Hokkaido, our backcountry sled skiing option is for the individual with both advanced skiing/snowboarding and snowmobiling skills who want to bag some of the many sled-accessible backcountry runs around the island. Will you become one of the lucky few who gets to say they have sled-skied in Japan?
This terrain varies depending on avalanche conditions and the groups overall desires. Options typically include perfectly spaced trees, open glades, powder fields, and hill climbs.
Hokkaido Backcountry Club guests are covered under our comprehensive insurance policy, but all riders are responsible for any damages caused to the machines.

Hokkaido Backcountry Club snowmobile guides start every tour with a safety talk, including a basic intro to the machine and overview of important hand signals. We then follow with a few warm up laps under close supervision before heading out to shred in the hills!
8:00 – Pickup from accommodations
9:00 – Arrive at Big Bear snowmobile location
9:25 – Finish Waivers, avalanche briefing, and gearing up
9:30 – Go snowmobile
15:00 – Finish snowmobiling
16:00 – Dropped off at accommodations
