OYUKI® was born in Niseko, Japan. In winter, Hokkaido is completely covered in snow. Towns are buried by it and locals are forever digging, barely able to keep their cars and properties clear as the snow literally piles up around them. In Japanese ‘OYUKI’ means ‘big snow’, which is our way of reflecting on the unique environment OYUKI® calls home.
When designing and testing our products in Niseko’s harsh winter environment we have one purpose in mind. To keep fellow riders on the mountain longer, smashing pow in absolute comfort.
In 2012 Weston Snowboards chose the small Colorado mountain community of Minturn to serve as our home base. Our front door is within shouting distance of Vail’s legendary side country run, “The Minturn Mile”. Being in the mountains is not only good for our soul, it gives us a unique connection to the riders we serve. Every day provides our team a special opportunity to listen, respond and participate with a community of riders that love being outside. Our hope is to create products that enable people to experience nature in a way that changes them forever.
